The UKs Premier tribute to...
The Darkness ...men what do rock, baby
"If you haven't seen these guys yet, hurry, you're missing out big time !" - Steve

Excerpts from a great and detailed review of The Millstone gig by 'Laura' on the optimumimpact website - June 2007

...The Likeness made a stunning first impression...

...brilliant and faithful performances of such songs as Givin' Up, Is It Just Me? and Love Is Only A Feeling, The Likeness crescendo-ed with I Believe In A Thing Called Love then finished with a spectacular rendition of the Darkness' cover of the Radiohead song Street Spirit (Fade Out).

... The Likeness reverted to type and rounded off almost 3 hours of high quality entertainment with (of course) I Believe In A Thing Called Love. The 'dance floor' was suddenly filled with screaming air guitarists and the night definitely ended on a high note. (Pun intended sorry, couldn’t resist).

From Mark the Monk - Saw you at Aberystwyth last night, was superb. All my mates had great night, The hightlight of the Ball!
From Rigger - I've seen The Darkness twice and, let's be honest, for four old blokes, they did a pretty darned good job.

From Sian, Limelight Crewe , Xmas Eve
We all had a great night on friday, another brilliant gig! we were impressed by the fireworks and the flames, you put on a fantastic show!

From Kym, Belfast
Saw the guys in Belfast on Saturday night. And what can i say- a fucking great tribute band!! I was thoroughly entertained. They put on a great performance.

Belfast Dudes
Just want to congratulate the Likeness on their amazing performace at the Empire Music Hall in Belfast. Justin was in top form and had run round the whole music hall before the first song had finished! If The Likeness come back here i will have at least 10 friends with me!! Brilliant!!

From Paul, Southampton Guildhall
Saturday 6th November at Southampton Guildhall. Woof! I wasn't expecting decent music that night .. you guys were fantastic. It was only when my mates started staring towards the stage halfway through your first song did I realise it was a band onstage rather than the actually song! So I spent the rest of your set on the barriers at the front screaming along to the lyrics and giving the \m/ sign to your bassman. :D Indeed I was truly disappointed when the set finished. Hope to see you guys again soon

From 'M' at Gloucester Guildhall
My god these guys rock! didnt have the money to c the darkness live so thought nxt best thing.....and got so much more!

From Damo at Gloucester Guildhall

Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed the Cartoon gig. I was knocked out by the accuracy of the set and impressed that you went off piste (e.g. Radiohead). Psi does a great job and his vocals... Can you congratulate him for me. The whole thing was great. Once again, many thanks. I very much hope that you go from strength to strength.

From Alan at the Cartoon in Croydon

From Erin at Chicago Rock in Macclesfield, Aug 2004
Fine biznezz from the likeness. I've got to say you rocked. The Darkness HAVE to be one of the hardest of bands to do a tribute to, and there more than likely isn't many who could do it AT ALL!! Seriously you really are the best tribute I for one have seen

From Janie... At the Witchwood, June 2004
Saw you guys at Ashton's Witchwood last night! Hugely entertaining!! And ta for posing for me piccies - those costumes have to be seen to be believed. See you again next time x

From Jane, Limelight, Crewe... April 2004
To be honest we were expecting a piss take. Having missed the Likeness on CD UK a few weeks back none of us had any idea of what this band were going to do. we went with low expectations.

What they did was outstanding..

If you cant see the Darkness in the next few months The Likeness are the next best thing. The gig started in true darkness style with Arrival being piped out, while Psy (AKA justin) appeared onstage as he should illuminated behind a white sheet to the opening of bareback...

They were good, they were VERY good. The singer has all the range of Justin and the showmanship to boot. He could make you laugh like the real thing and shout "motherfucker" at the top of your voice. If you closed your eyes at times you could almost be there. There was even the obligatory wardrobe glitch when the tassles of the new sparkly costume managed to become entwined in the guitar during love on the rocks....They played all of the traditional darkness set and more. Was great to finally hear "holding my own" done live (and very well to I add!) and their version of Street Spirit was also fantastic.

The Limelight isnt the biggest of venues but it was packed out, a huge crowd compared to what I had imagined all of whom seemed to be really enjoying themselves.

If you get the chance to see this band then do it. A fun, enjoyable night is guaranteed!!

From Liz and Mark, Limelight, Crewe... April 2004
Saw you last night in Crewe. You absolutely rocked yours (and ours!), socks off! Psy hit those high notes (even with a cold!), can't wait to hear what he sound like without.

From Nicky, Jon, Andy, Nicki Limelight, Crewe... April 2004
Went to the gig in the Limelight in Crewe 14/04/04 what an absolutley fantastic night it was packed out and a brilliant atmosphere (and we werent even drinking!), please please please come back again very soon.

From Rada, Limelight, Crewe... April 2004
Excellent show in Crewe last night - exceeded all expectations!

From Steve, Limelight, Crewe... April 2004
If you haven't seen these guys yet, hurry, you're missing out big time !

From Boogie, Limelight, Crewe... April 2004
A fantastic gig all round. Well worth seeing. These must be one of the best tribute bands around at the minute. I can't see many coming close to the standard set here. They really have studied TD and the showmanship is definately there.

If you ever get the chance to see them, I can highly recommend it. In fact, beg, plead, grovel with your local venues to give them a gig!!

If you're lucky enough to get them to play near you, let me know as I will certainly be following their progress!!

In a nutshell, absolutely Bucking Frilliant!

From Kimberley, Bournemouth... March 2004
Respect for wearing that catsuit at your gig tonight in Bournemouth! You guys rocked tonight, I really enjoyed listening to you. I dunno what your lead singers name is, but you sound just like Justin Hawkins singing wise, top notch. all those high notes!

Anyway, just wanted to say well done! come back to Bo'Mo' some time!
